2018 Final Four Official Programme
Signature Star: Jaycee Carroll, Real Madrid Since he first donned the white Real Madrid uniform at the start of the 2011-12 season, Jaycee Carroll has been at the heart of all the success that the teamhas tasted. The 35-year-old shooting guard has played in the second- most games (188) and scored the second-most points (1,848) of all Madrid players in that period whilemaking the second-most three-pointers (315) in the entire Turkish Airlines EuroLeague! Carroll goes into the Final Four having played in 132 consecutive EuroLeague contests forMadrid. He has not missed a game since April of 2014, giving him the longest such run in the competition. However, Carroll’s iron-man streak is only a part of the legacy that he is continually in the process of building. During this successful stint with the club, Carrol has helped the team lift a dozen titles. Among his many heroics, few shine brighter than his 3 three-pointers and 11 third-quarter points in the 2015 EuroLeague championship game, which fueledMadrid’s run to victory over Olympiacos Piraeus for the club’s ninth and latest EuroLeague crown. Madrid’s American-born guard is arguably the best and most consistent long-distance shooter of this century in the EuroLeague. He is one of just 15 players withmore than 300 three-point shots made in the competition. No other player in that select company or with as many games played as his 188, comes even close to Carroll’s 43.6% career three-point accuracy. Not much has been different for the sweet-shooting guard this season, either. In a campaign that has seenMadrid plagued with injuries to several of its stars, Carroll proved again to be a man of fewmisses. Carroll enters the Final Four having made the second-most triples on the team this season (49), while no Madrid player has shot from the arc withmore accuracy (45.4%). Carroll leads the EuroLeague this season in free throw shooting at 97.6%, having made 44 of 45 attempts so far. Should hemaintain that accuracy through the Final Four, he will break the EuroLeague’s single-season record for free throw shooting perfection! In his fifth Final Four, and having previously already appeared in three EuroLeague championship games, Carroll’s legacy can only grow in Belgrade. OFFICIAL PROGRAMME 37
